A priest shared his homily on FB which he delivered at the Mass of a beloved Jesuit priest Fr. Leon who died yesterday. It was peppered with descriptions of what made this man so dearly adored by the people he served. But one sentence popped out for me:
Always grateful to the Lord wherever he was and always trying to make the most of what he had.
What a wonderful description of a life well lived. When it is my time to go, I pray that I will have lived up to the same measurement. I pray that I have pleased God's heart to no end.
